‘If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;’ – Isaiah 1:19 (Amplified Bible)
‘One act of obedience is better than one hundred sermons’ – Deitrich Bonhoeffer
Obedience is so easy there is nothing hard about it just simply obey – Standard. Obedience to God’s word and laws just shows that you are heading for a great future. Obedience is the ability to allow Heaven to smile on you. Obey!!!! You may think it’s not easy but it is EASY. You gain a lot of benefits just for being obedient. Can you imagine that……. #selahmoment
What is Obedience?
Obedience is the ability to follow through God’s word without any complaint. Obedience is just applying yourself to God’s word. Obedience is the ability to listen to God’s instruction for direction. Obedience is carrying out God’s command. Obedience is carrying an assignment which must be fulfilled; without God’s assignment being fulfilled failure is expected. Obediece to God’s word might come in a harsh way BUT it’s for your own good.
Dangers of not following God’s obedience
God’s word become dry – lack of knowledge and understanding leads to this.
‘NOW THE boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before ELi. The word of the Lord was rare and precious in those days; there was no frequent or wisely spread vision.’ – 1 Samuel 3:1 (Amplified Bible)
When you disobey God’s word you immediately cause a limitation on yourself and you reduce the level of God’s word you receive into your life. When God’s word becomes dry, you aren’t gaining any knowledge and insight in the word of God.
You become rejected from a place of authority & you get re – placed.
‘Disobedience is as bad as the sin of sorcery. Pride is as bad as the sin of worshipping idols. You have rejected the LORD’s command. No he rejects you as king’ – 1 Samuel 15:23 (New Century Version)
‘As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught his robe, and it tore. Samuel said to him, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors who is better than you. The LORD is the Eternal One of Israel. He does not lie or change his mind. He is not a human being, so he does not change his mind.’ – 1 Samuel 15:27-29 (New Century Version)
This occurs when you fail to comply with God’s instructions. Failure to listen to the word of the Lord can make you have become rejected & replaced. God is looking for someone who He can use BUT if you disobey EYYY you are just going to be looking at your God given gifts being manifest in someone else’s life. OUCH!!!
When God rejected King Saul the next person was David, why? David had an obedient heart towards God. (King Saul reigned Israel for 40 years he was only appointed for 2 years the remaining 38 years wasted years due to disobedience). King Saul’s rejected from the throne of power ushered in his opponent David who was a man after God’s heart despite his mistakes.
You remain in a barren land.
‘The heavens over your head shall be brass and the earth under you shall be iron.’ – Deuteronomy 28:23 (The Amplified Bible).
When you don’t walk in obedience you will remain in a barren land. People that remain in a barren land are there due to lack of obedience and stubbornness to listen to God’s instruction and people God has placed in their life.
In Psalms 68:6 the Bible declares that ‘… But the rebellious dwell in parched land.’ (The Amplified Bible)
Failure to follow God’s instruction will make you dwell in a barren land until you come and repent before God with an honest and pure heart.
You begin to toil for something that was already yours.
‘But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword [of God's destructive judgments], and they shall die in ignorance of true knowledge.’ – Job 36:12 (The Amplified Bible).
When you disobey God you begin to toil for something that was already yours. God wants us to obey Him. When you don’t obey God’s instruction you end up living a life of judgment; and dying knowing the truth but not fully applying yourself to it.
The benefits of obedience to God
You become a vessel in the hand of God.
‘All who make themselves clean from evil will be used for special purposes. They will be made holy, useful to the Master, ready to do any good work.’ – 2 Timothy 2:21 (New Century Version).
When you become obedient to God; you become ready and useful in the Kingdom of God not useless. The term ‘special purposes’ in the King James Version of the Bible it states ‘vessel‘ and this word is from the Greek word which is Skeuos which means a man of quality fit for God’s end time programme here on earth. When you become a vessel in the hands of God; He can shape and mould you into His will for your life.
Obedience to God’s will makes you a candidate for you to be a vessel of honour in God’s hand.
Wisdom from above comes to you.
‘But the wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. It is always fair and honest.’ – James 3:17 (New Century Version).
There is a wisdom that comes from ABOVE – GOD; that the world cannot comprehend. Obedience to God will allow you to walk in divine wisdom which is ONLY from above. God’s wisdom is higher than man’s wisdom. Obedience allows you to tune into Heavenly wisdom and bring solution to the situations of life on a daily basis.
God’s will become known and revealed to you.
‘Those who see the Son and believe in him have eternal life, and I will raise them on the last day. This is what my Father wants.’ – John 6:40 (New Century Version)
‘David did God’s will during his lifetime…’ – Acts 13:36 (New Century Version)
Knowing God’s will for your life has become essential in these last days like never before.
Without fulfilling the will of God for your life; you will be on a lifeless cycle.
When you obey God, you will receive clarity on what GOD WANTS YOU TO ACHIEVE FOR HIS KINGDOM. God’s will is the plan God has for your life which has already been orchestrated for you before your birth. Failure to fulfill and know God’s will for your life result in living a sinful life. Once God’s will isn’t reveal and known to you will be pursuing and fulfilling worldly lusts.
‘For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].’ — 1 John 2:16 (Amplified Bible)
